IGALA MASK
African tribal mask, possibly Igala or Bassa. Slit eyes, sharp, angled nose above an open mouth, smooth features accentuated by a bulbous forehead with deep linear grooves carved into the dome.
This rare mask bears several features synonymous with masks from both tribal groups.
Condition
Very good, minimal wood loss along the top of the dome. Rich, dark brown patina.
